This is a translation for your convenience. The German version of this privacy policy is authoritative.
1. Overview
This privacy policy applies to the Dough it yourself app and to this website. In short: the app works completely offline. It does not transfer any personal data to us or to third parties, needs no account and contains no ads, analytics or tracking services.
2. Controller

3. Data in the app
Everything you create in the app is stored only locally on your device:
- recipes you create, copy or import,
- starters and their feedings,
- bakes, schedules and recurring plans,
- journal entries with photos, ratings and notes,
- achievements, weekly streaks and progress,
- settings such as language, units and default room temperature.
We have no access to this data. The app does not connect to our own servers or to third-party services, and there is no cloud sync.
4. Permissions
Notifications: So that the app can remind you of baking steps, scheduled bakes and feedings, it asks for permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device and are not sent via a server.
Camera and photos: You can take photos for your baking journal or pick them from your photo library. The app keeps them in its local storage and does not upload them. If you want, it also saves photos you take to your photo library.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings.
5. Sharing and backups
Data only leaves your device when you explicitly trigger it: when you share a recipe as a PDF or export a backup. You choose where the file goes, for example into a message or the Files app. The privacy terms of the service you choose apply. A backup contains all data from the app, including photos and private notes, so please keep it safe.
6. Purchase via the App Store
You download and buy Dough it yourself via Apple’s App Store. Apple processes data such as your Apple Account and purchase and payment information under its own responsibility; Apple’s privacy policy applies. From Apple we only receive aggregated statistics, for example on downloads and sales, and crash reports if you have agreed on your device to share them with app developers. These do not allow us to identify you personally.
7. This website
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA (“Vercel”). When you visit it, Vercel automatically processes information your browser sends: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer URL and browser type and operating system. This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely and reliably.
Vercel processes the data as a processor on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. The transfer is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) and additionally on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). Log data is only kept as long as necessary for these purposes.
The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services and loads no third-party content. An Apple page only opens when you click a link to the App Store.
8. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request concerns the use of the app, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering requests). We delete the data once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.
9. Children
The app is not specifically aimed at children. As it does not transfer any personal data to us, we do not collect data from children either.
10. Deleting your data
When you delete the app, iOS removes all of the app’s data from your device. Exported backups and shared PDF files must be deleted wherever you stored them.
11. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). As the app stores your data only on your device, we usually do not hold any data about you from the app.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
12. Changes
If the app or this website changes, we will update this privacy policy. You can always find the current version on this page.
